We therefore get involved locally and increasingly internationally in projects such as the “Kinderhaus Blauer Elefant” (Blue Elephant Children’s Home), the “Kinderschutz-Zentrum Kiel” (child protection center in Kiel) and the Kayunga Project, or in sponsoring popular sports in our region.
Kinderhaus Blauer Elefant
For more than two years, we have been supporting the German Child Protection Agency in Kiel and its help facilities—the “Kinderhaus Blauer Elefant” children’s home and the “Kinderschutz-Zentrum Kiel” child protection center. Both facilities help socially disadvantaged children, youngsters and their families. In 2013, the German Child Protection Agency in Kiel brought all of its help facilities together under one roof. The “Kinderhaus Blauer Elefant” children’s home and the “Kinderschutz-Zentrum Kiel” child protection center are now in the same building at Sophienblatt 85 and house all help facilities for children and their families.
Kayunga – Projects for Uganda
The company HS-Optikmaschinen and several international organizations such as the WHO, Lions, or UHECA are involved in various projects in Uganda, East Africa. These projects help the Ugandan government to provide eyewear to poor-sighted citizens and train local opticians in modern surgical techniques.
Besides improving quality of life, sport also plays a key social role—especially when it comes to children and youngsters—for example by helping to integrate the disabled or people with a migration background. Many clubs rely on the support of sponsors to fulfill all tasks—from obtaining sports facilities through to nurturing young players and promoting talent. We are committed to promoting sports—irrespective of league or age group!
